ACW or French Zouaves

Here's some shots of the painting workbench from earlier in the week, I've now base-coated the colours on my first 8 stands, interestingly, this is my first post of my huge historical collection, which will hopefully get blogged eventually.
These were bought in regards to the Gettysburg Re-fight later in the year and am pleased to show at least a little progress :) I have the officer, command stand and 2 guns painted, with 14 or so more stands of infantry to paint but I have plenty of figures if I need more.
Roll em up lads

officer (I have a French one also now, ta Kent)

My Commander leading the charge

The rank and file boys undercoated and now basecoated, highlights to come, I have heaps of these figures in case I want to take them afield to the Crimea, Algeria or wherever. I'll have to different command stands and paint them as the 5th New York, about as generic as it gets.

Persian Cav (Wargames Factory Plastics)
A sneek peek into my ancients, these will go with my Parthians, Later Seleucids and perhaps Palmyra. I've made progress here since the photo as well so if I get time in the week-end hopefully I can finish them all off.

That's all for now, I need to get a better camera I think, its hard to pick out the detail ;)

WAR OF THE RING - Elves of the North (Rivendell)

I just got these last week and repainted them in a few days, I went hard! I swapped them for Flames of war Russians with Jas ages ago, but he kindly traded me back his spares for other stuff, I should easily be able to add some cavalry or scouts eventually to boost the numbers, but this is a good number of Elves for 750 points (great for multiplayer games) and I have plenty of Heroes, Jamie did an awesome job of re-working the elven list for The War of The North, our take on the Hobbit era battles/skirmishes. You can also find that on Rough War (of the Ring). They are easier to take and enjoyable to play now (best troops out as they should have been all along.).
Got to finish Gandalf's base off sometime...

You are so bad Elrond

5x Bow
4 x Glaives

WAR OF THE RING - Dol Guldur

This is my Dol Guldur Army for War of the Ring, most of the figures were second-hand or converted on the cheap ;) I guess we can all relate to GWs price madness. This has been a work in progress for a long while now, You'll see games/Batreps on Rough War (of the Ring) that I have had with Jamie, Jas and others.

Im working on the Ghostly Legion at the moment, I have a few painted but about 5 more bases to wash and base and highlight. Still lots to do.... sooo many of them!

I've also been working on some 28mm Sci-fi lately but I'm not happy with some of the schemes, particularily the blue and Red, I do like the camao though and the Orange prison suits, I'll have to work out a better colour for the Power armour. Tossing up different games but Infinity was a free download from Beasts of War and I have been having a glance through that.

Hmm first post,
What a noob, bear with me as I get my bricklayers head around this ;)
But here it is, some modern Era tanks I have in 6mm for a game we converted from EPIC called conflict 89. I have Israelis and Syria/Iraq armies.
